June 1 has a whole new selection of Connections for us to work through and we barely scrapped by a win in today's game. There were just too many categories that we weren't super-familiar with which sent us on a few unintentional time-wasters. We were able to pull off the win just before running out of attempts though. Sometimes, those really difficult wins can be the best.
Those who like a more difficult daily game, and have enjoyed Wordle in the past, may find Quordle as something that challenges them a bit more. In this game, you'll be solving four different Wordle puzzles at the same time which can quickly become a brain-burner. Daily challenges like this are a great way to start any morning routine and get your mind working.

I think our decision to be a little too fast in today's game was what led us to the failures we endured. Trying to score the categories without really stopping to think about if they make sense is a quick way to lose the game. We scored yellow in second place today after a few missteps. PRONTO and HURRY were the obvious starter words, and the others weren't far behind.

With only eight words left you'd think it would be an easy win, but we really did struggle with today's game. I suppose it would be our lack of knowledge in the world of philosophers, because we definitely know all about working out and exercises. We're so ripped bro, you can't even begin to shred the numbers we be lifting. GAINS!

This category went completely over our heads. hom*ophones are tough on their own, but couple that with philosopher names and we are at a loss. I have a theater degree, it's useless for most things. However, it was fun to learn about these historical "guessers" after the category was revealed.
LOCK | John Locke | Locke is best known as an influencer of limited government. His theories would argue that governments have obligations to their citizens and should only have a limited power over them. |
MARKS | Karl Marx | Marx often published detailed critiques of the capitalist system. He felt that the capitalistic system would inevitably destroy itself, and if you've recently been to a McDonalds, it's hard to disagree. Can we get the Dollar Menu back, please? |
PANE | Thomas Paine | This one might be a stretch, but I couldn't find any other philosopher that worked with the word PANE. Thomas Paine was more of a political theorist and a journalist, but he does fit the criteria. |
RUSTLE | Bertrand Russell | Russell is probably the most interesting guy in this line-up. He dealt mostly with idealism and metaphysics. The Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy says "Idealism is broadly understood as the contention that ultimate reality is immaterial or dependent on mind, so that matter is in some sense derivative, emergent, and at best conditionally real." Mind-blowing! |
